Does anybody else get worked up when your relatives from out of Town say they are coming to visit and the bastards don't show up?

I mean, I think that it's damn inconsiderate to have people, including relatives, think that all you have to do all day is wait for them to show up? I mean, WTF-Over? They told me that they would be here by noon and here it is 1700 hours and they still are not here. For some reason, this shit really gets me going. Does anybody else feel that way? It's going to be a shit show anyway! And they are staying for five freaking days.

Hopefully they were not in a wreck and hospitalized.......could it be car trouble in an area where there is no signal? Or maybe just a "we changed our minds and didn't want to hurt yall's feelings." You know you do not have to invite them over for Thanksgiving.....or Christmas.....

Odd: I'm about to call the Douglas County Sherriff - Around 1200, a couple in their mid-fifties pulled their Griswald Family Roadster into my driveway. They keep ringing the doorbell and asking "When will David be home?" (btw, This would be funny if it happened to someone else.)

Oh David, if you're lucky they won't show at all. Maybe they got into some disagreement over packing and aren't coming. It happens. For sure, I wouldn't call them (if they have cell phones) and ask where they are. There's an old adage here in Kentucky. "After three days both fish and company have to be thrown out" How many of them are there and are you their vacation for this summer? Used to happen to me a lot in Tennessee when we had a five bedroom house and a 44,000 gallon pool! Good Luck. Let us know how this turns out.

I have been more irritated in the past when people [close friends or relatives] failed to show up and didn't call to say they were running late or something else came up and changed their plans. When they called or sent an email I felt much better. When I did not receive any notification then I have been very irritated.
Well sometimes I have been at fault. When I was stationed in Germany one of my cousins was living in Copenhagen, Denmark and tried to contact meas she was passing through the Bamberg area to see me. I was in Wiesbaden visiting friends at the time and saw her note after I got back.
Depending on how far away they are and who they are traveling with I may need to give them some slack. Some of my relatives have had disabilities which made travel tough for them. I have found of late that I am having difficulties driving long distances. When I was young I could drive all day. Now I need frequent breaks.

Story of my life. But when I was stationed closer to my family, they always "expected" me to visit them. Even now that I'm stationed overseas, they still expect me to visit. Super hard to ever get them to visit me.

My out of town family is pretty good at letting me know that they're coming and what their ETA is. I have one friend that can't hit a time hack to save her life. I used to get mad about it, especially if I had made an effort to make a nice dinner or something. Now we just wager on the over/under bet and have some fun at her expense.

Not a problem that I have. Most of my relatives are either dead or live a thousand miles away. Other than one brother who lives close I never see anyone. All that I ever get is email messages or posts on facebook.

lol, yes I have family who are never on time, don't do what they say. If I am going to have a cookout or something and I plan it for two pm, I usually tell them it will start at 11am and they usually get there by two :-)
