Does a Vietnam Era Veteran with no combat time qualify for a Veteran's ID Card? If so, how do I get one?

I'm a Vietnam Era Veteran, no combat time... I recently saw a sign for a discount for vets... I was asked for my Veterans Card... never heard of it until now... do I qualify? I was awarded the ribbon... how do I get one if I do?

Apply online through the V.A. ... which is controlled by a private corporation called ID.me ... who ask for your entire life history, and still deny... OR

go directly to your nearest V.A. Office and apply directly... OR...

Real ID Act allows for Veteran Status to be on State ID/Driver's License ... the simplest... show DD-214 with old ID/License... presto... no need to give your life to a private corporation who will sell it to Russia, China, and other Enemies of the U.S. :)

Regular Veterans I.D. card apply online at va.gov, if you are enrolled in VA Healthcare apply for a Veteran's Health I.D. card at your nearest VA Medical Center or clinic. Either card is all the proof you need of your Veteran status.

In my state (Kansas) your veteran status can be put on your drivers license or state ID. Just bring your DD214 to the DMV

Yes you do. I'm from Wisconsin and you can get a Veteran designation on your Driver's License or State ID card by showing your DD-214 at the Motor Vehicle Dept at the time of issue or renewal. If you have a Veterans Health Identification Card (VHIC) that will do, also.

As others have noted, you can apply at the VA to get a veteran's ID card and/or if your state supports it, you may get a veterans designation on your rivers license like we do here in Nebraska. https://dmv.nebraska.gov/dl/veterans-designation
