Do you use cruise control when you drive?

Drove 1000+ miles this week cross-country and found that many people don’t drive at a set speed. But I also knows that if the car had veteran plates, they were more likely to be using cruise control. Is that common? Or is it my own Observational bias getting in the way?

If i'm on a long stretch of freeway i do usually. If i'm in Oregon, i set it at 55. It seems Cali plates are like a blinking neon sign begging Oregon troopers to pull me over.

I do, my wife doesn't. My use of it keeps my wife from glancing over at the speedometer ever couple of minutes...

I use cruise when I can, I have a tendency towards high speeds otherwise.

I definitely use.
I agree that there are a lot of “accordion” drivers out there. Very frustrating when you have it on cruise, approach a car, pull out to pass only to have them speed up to match you for a while, then accelerate. This goes on a few times, which at some point, when I pull out to pass, I accelerate 10-15 mph faster than my previous setting, and don’t slow down until I’m at least a quarter mile ahead. That usually does it.

Capt Bob Abbott if I had Cruise Control, I would definitely use it. I bought the basic model when I bought my vehicle since I don’t like to spend what I don’t have and it wasn’t part of the basic package then. It is rare though anymore that I drive behind someone that consistently keeps the same speed; like to stay behind them when they do.

Capt Bob Abbott The cruise control with it’s sensor to maintain my distance from the car ahead goes on whenever I get on a real highway, Metro Los Angeles’s crowded Freeways do not qualify as real highways!

I use it to the maximum extent possible the other jackwagons who don't, allow me to. Should be a punishable offense.

I do. Keeps my from telling I'm going to fast and I do get better fuel mileage.

I use cruise all the time on my motorcycles and in my car. Not in the rain though.
