I earned my Bachelors degree with 12 credits from 9 years in service. The reason I do not feel that service is equal to a degree is because a degree program teaches you a very different set of skills than the service does. Service is all about conformity and a college education teaches you to think critically and question everything in a responsible manner. I question any organization that offers a degree only based on military service. I cannot verify this as the link you used is a dead link but I would wager that the school is not accredited and not worth the cost. If a school lacks regional accreditation, then there is a good chance it is a diploma mill. I would have no issues with trade certifications being issued based on the specific specialty in the military.Response by SGT David T. made Nov 30 at 2015 8:52 AM2015-11-30T08:52:10-05:002015-11-30T08:52:10-05:00SGM Mikel Dawson1139743

It's a degree from the University of Life. Why? Because collage boys think they are entitled. They come in and think they should be running the place in 6 months. I mean they have a degree in English right?

Vets offer up things like discipline, work ethic, the ability to problem solve, they work well in teams or as an individual. Most important they bring maturity with them.

Companies were looking for 4 year degrees a couple years ago because somebody was able to stick it out in college are now finding out that a vet brings more to the table and have started recruiting them much more.

I say we must continue our education in order to grow, but don't ever let somebody tell you that a degree is worth more than time in service.Response by SGT William Howell made Nov 30 at 2015 9:40 AM2015-11-30T09:40:55-05:002015-11-30T09:40:55-05:00CSM David Heidke1139857

Generally speaking if your in a Red state which have a tendency to be more Pro military then employers will seek out those with more experience especially from the military, you have not only the Technical qualifications for say your career if you using what you did in the military to the civilian sector but also the leadership, management skill acquired. However if you are in a heavy saturated Veteran area like say Maryland or Virginia then you competing with other Veterans that may have both a degree and years of experience and due to this not having a degree is going to hurt you.Response by SSgt Paul Esquibel made Nov 30 at 2015 2:01 PM2015-11-30T14:01:07-05:002015-11-30T14:01:07-05:00Cpl Private RallyPoint Member1141269

There's no way in hell my time driving an Amphibious tracked vehicle is worth anything more than Class A driver's license.
