Since it has Naval rank insignia; I would think that you wouldn't want to wear the Pea Coat- if in fact you are not military.

I don't think so. Anyone can go to an Army-Navy surplus store and buy something similar, and then wear it. Nobody harasses people when they do that (unless they're attempting to wear a full uniform, which this coat isn't).

"Nautical heritage" indicated by U.S. Navy enlisted rank insignia, supplemented with hash marks for further "heritage" indication???
They wouldn't get away with marketing a police uniform,nor should they get away with imitating the uniforms of the highest level of law enforcement --- "Constitution enforcement" by the Armed Services.

$3,500 DOLLARS!!!!???? FOR A COAT!!!??? Personally I wouldn't harp on them for trying to pass as a Vet.....I would challenge their mentality and thought process for willingly spending $3,500 for a coat.

If they are wearing it simply for style, it shouldn't matter. It only becomes a problem with fashion gets confused with valor.

I dont mind the coat, it is a style that people like, but I think the insignia shouldn't be there on this or in surplus stores, unless you earned it
