Burroughs I am thankful that Rags of Honor, which is a Chicago-based T-shirt shop, focuses on employing our nation’s returning veterans, many of whom are in danger of homelessness. This employment opportunity seems like it may be a concept which could be reproduced in other urban areas.
The reasons for veteran homelessness are almost as varied as the number of homeless veterans. Some are homeless for short periods while others fall of the grid and may be homeless until they die.
Most homeless veterans fall somewhere in between those two extremes.
There is no one size or solution which will fit all needs to veteran homelessness. I hope and pray that as many homeless veterans as possible are able to be secure, comfortable and warn enough this Christmas season and throughout the winter. LTC Stephen F. When private industry steps in to solve a problem our government agencies are confounded by, it's typically successful. One veteran at a time. There were a few times after I got out that I felt worthless, because I had extended periods of unemployment. Luckily I was never at risk of becoming homeless, but I can only imagine what these Brothers and Sisters were going through before they found their Guardian Angel!
