Do you think the Naval Officers should lose their pensions if found guilty (or plead guilty) in the "Fat Leonard" corruption charges?

Well, since some of them are getting courts martial and sent to prison......that pretty much negates pension and benefits

If they're convicted and given anything worse than an OTH, then they are going to lose their pension. I'm not sure where you're seeing they get to keep it. Got a source?

Post CM and reduction of rank..Any retirement benefits based on that lower rank.
Subtract the amount of days they were involved in the illegal operations, from their total days of service, base any retirement benefits based on lower number of days "served as good time"

As I don't think thats possible to calculate, nor a legal option for a CM punishment, they did the crime, they do the time which should include loss of all pay and benefits.

Depends on what they are convicted of and what the sentencing says. If nothing else they gave us great material for annual ethics training lol

Somewhere between "Last rank in which they served honorably" and "Forfeiture of all pay and benefits" lies the answer. We have a system in place, however they are individually adjudicated should determine this. BG Sinclair retired as a LTC, I guess they found hinky stuff going all the way back to O6. It is still a lot of money compared to many of us, but this is not a case for jealousy or moral relativism. What gets damaged is image, trust, and reputation, any effect it had on Naval readiness was probably minimal and at some point, they contributed to their service. Audie Murphy was, by some accounts, an alcoholic and wife beater, but also a war hero, movie actor, writer of country and western songs, and a poet. You don't get a pass on what you do, but bad judgment and mistakes don't erase everything good you do either.

1. They can if the Court-martial authority says so, they can be busted and retired or even sent to jail.
