Do you think the Military has too many surveys?

After getting at least 1 request each week from different agencies to participate in a survey. I thought I would give you an option to do one more.

If the military would do something with our opinions, maybe I wouldn't mind a survey every once in a while.

But every time you visit the clinic? What if my provider is a piece of shit? Not like he will get fired over a survey.

Command surveys are popular...since they are mandated (at least in the Army -Directive 2013-29). You have to expect to participate in that one at least 2 times for every commander.

Officers are also 'highly encouraged' to take the Multi-Source Assessment and Feedback 360 (MSAF 360) annually to coincide with the OER.

My most recent survey request was about IET.
'"We’ve developed the attached survey to assess the Army’s Initial Entry Training (IET) in an effort to help us improve what we train and how we train."
I highly doubt they are going to take my comments into consideration when they are paying someone higher up than myself big bucks to come up with dumb/new ideas.

It is no surprise that so many people choose not to participate. Besides receiving then like spam in your email, your answers don't matter on a large scale.

It's captive audience syndrome.

The benefit of the military is that it is a reflection of society. It is a diverse group, which represents all ages, both genders (skews male 85%/15%), most races & ethnicity, all education levels (high school & above), and the economic brackets are "fairly well" represented for the middle class.

And it's large.

If they don't ask the questions, I can't answer them truthfully. If I don't provide truthful input, they will never know how I feel about a topic. Change can not be made in a vacuum, so I am filling up the vacuum with the information they want.

The concept of someone asking a troopie ANYTHING (expect "how high") is almost beyond imagination!

I absolutely LOVE taking surveys! I see it as a challenge of what I can possibly say that completely throws off all of their data. Especially the demographics. I'm a lighskineed black guy not of hispanic descent born in Mexico, who's skinny but a little overweight, short for a tall guy and I leave gender blank because I don't want to discriminate. Then i hand write in answers where there are only multiple choices saying that their options are inadequate.
