In my view, I see no need to change the Constitution&#39;s Preamble at all... I love all it stands for and will continue to honor my enlistment oath I took back in May back in 1961... In the preamble, they wrote a blank check of power, to make sure the new government would end up bigger and stronger and more oppressive than the one they had spent years fighting against. Then they used a lot more paper giving the government powers that were already covered in the first sentence. I think you have figured out exactly what the preamble means. Kudos. We would do well to examine the words closely and take them to heart rather than look at them as something we need to abridge out of convenience.
