Do you think that RallyPoint should make a more concerted effort to have politicians do Ask Me Anything's?

I noticed that Ted Cruz has jumped on RP and is planning an AMA.I think it is a rather ingenious way to engage a population and allow serious access to a person we normally wouldn't get to speak to. I am just wondering if RallyPoint should directly recruit politicians so that we can have our own veteran/SM led Q and A. The veteran and active duty vote is huge so I am sure they would pounce on it.

RP is constantly trying to get 'high value targets' to show up, and has been quite successful so far, in my time here. I suspect they'll keep trying. Remember, their success in this arena doesn't depend solely upon their effort (which I'm sure is consistent) -- it also depends on the given individual.

Sure why not. Veterans at less than I think 1 percent of the Population now are not as significant as we once were, You ignore us at your own Political Peril. Politicians are selling a Product, Themselves and I always like a Good Salesman.

It will be a good thing as long as 1. The SM or vet doesn't loose their bearing, and 2. The candidate answers the questions. That was a gripe I had when Jeb came we had SM's who didn't like him and that's fine, but we're better singularly or as a group than any candidate or party, and should carry ourselves as such. The candidates need to stop with the "canned" responses. We're not dumb, we watch tv and research them. So coming on here giving your "stump" speech of links to past speeches is pointless. I want to hear what you say or think NOW. Not what you said three weeks or more ago. If you can dedicate your time to getting voters in BFE in a town hall, give them time to ask questions and you answer them on the spot, we deserve the EXACT same consideration.

No disrespect Sgt. but Cruz on RP is total PR (I didn't mean to do that) I don't think we would get straight answers, we would get what they think we want to hear....I may be wrong but I'd bet a dollar on it!

I would think these Politicians would like to chat with Veterans Groups. But you have to believe they would try to use us for political reasons ..i.e Hillary Clinton would say something like this: " I chatted online today on Rally Point with some old Marine form Boston MA who questioned my honesty and truthfulness and I told him I have always told the truth and I also told him how much I appreciated his service to our country along with all of his fellow Marines who have a special place in my heart"....

....And I think I would toss my cookies after reading that BS from her...and I would be sorry I asked that dumb question..

My first thought is that I've come to expect nothing more from the RepubliCrats, than their "safe", canned, campaign positions. Anybody who's listened has heard, and likely can predict their answers. Secondly, I'm personally not very impressed with the positions of the candidates running from either party, as none are promising to bring us into line with, or even closer to our prescribed Constitutional principles and limits.

I personally have issues with Cruz..specifically since he has dual citizenship which is a SERIOUS conflict of intrest for the position of POTUS! Cruz should disavow his citizenship with Canada!! Think about it! Shoud the Prime Minister of Cananada be allowed to have dual citizenship and run for the highest office in Canada?? No...trust is an issue with me...!!

I would love to see all remaining Candidates have one. Personally Dr Carson gets my vote, but I haven't heard back from his people when I suggested he have a Q & A, I assume AMA is the same thing. Do we have anyone at RP that could approach the candidates for an AMA?
