Do you think sometimes you bring it on yourself?

Sometimes I can't help to question if you really don't realize you are bringing it on yourself. Or maybe I am wrong. I have often heard our brothers/sisters in the Air Force say they are just as tough as any soldier/sailor/marine. That is fine. There are a lot of great Airmen out there that do a great job on the flight line and in combat. But when you see stuff like this it really isn't going to help you in that argument.

I can't recall see the Army's 3RD Infantry or the Marines doing something like this. Maybe they do and just don't post it on social media.

Is this just to be funny or is this sending the wrong image.

Embarrassing to say the least. I wonder who thought this was a good "test" of order/discipline/bearing and why so many of them seem unable to withstand the temptation to laugh at a rubber chicken. On top of the poor decision making, they filmed it too. It looks like the High School ROTC leadership is taking over.

Sometimes you need to have some fun. of course there is a place and time.
Oh it's to bad i didn't learn that part. I love to mess with folks alot i go to my partners
shop and mess with the workers. We all have fun

Being a former Marine I know how Marines would act. And sure as heck not like that. This is not one of the better decisions to post on social media by the Air Force. Made them look silly and not serious at all. Yes, sometimes we do bring it on ourselves.

Let's be honest . . . I would fail that spectacularly. Who cares what the tool is, so long as it's effective. They want to have a little fun or a little morale, who are we to deny that. As for me though, I wouldn't be able to resist busting out laughing . . . at the chicken, the instructor, and the situation as a whole.

I'm like this brothers and sisters. ....I'm from the old school generation. Where more conservative... Not To Scared of rank or politicians. we speak our mind, but follow orders, as long as they are legal and follow the Constitution. so with that said I've been busted more times than most. proud of it, had a lot of fun, I've been busted so many times that if I were promoted as many times I should B sergeant major of the universe buy now :-) no regrets, I can live with myself. can most of you :-)

Wrong image? What image would you like to show 24-7? The AFHG and the other four service teams have nothing but a soid, strong image when it comes to being in public. This video brings a bit of the light side of humanity of the honor guard which helps the public understand that these Airmen are just like them- human, but well trained humans.

If you can eventually keep a straight face when a stupid rubber chicken appears out of the corner of your eye, then you will keep a straight face when a foreign diplomat trips on a carpet in front of you during a full honors arrival ceremony.

So what if the Army, Marines, Navy or even the Coast Guard units in and around DC do this or not? The AF does and this video is a bit of fun, but with a serious end result. During the six weeks of USAF HG technical school bringing the self under a strict discipline, it is good to blow off some steam for a few minutes, but accomplish the mission at the same time.

To each his own, but you seem to bring the integrity of the AFHG into question.

Yes, I know it's a rubber chicken. And it's the Air Force. Conducting Honor Guard Training of all things, with said rubber chicken. Got it.

Cue laughter track, insert your best Air Force joke here, attach your best Air Force meme below; do what you must, I guess, but before you do so, I ask you, who we to judge? Anything taken out of context can look as goofy as rubber dog crap; if not down right outrageous. Who here can remember the National Guard Funeral Honors Trainees that posted their "harmless" photo to FB last year? In reality, did they really harm or injure anyone? No. But they derailed their careers and brought embarrassment and discredit upon the National Guard and the National Guard Funeral Honors Program.

This Air Force photo doesn't bring scandal, yet we want to blow it up into something here on RP. For what good or gain? The Air Force is tired of constantly having to explain itself repeatedly to the rest of us. I know this, because I asked the Air Force point blank here on RP to explain itself to us. It's been doing one Hell of a job doing so ever since then. Take the time to read the threads. You will learn something. There's a lot of good stuff to learn!

I just don't think my Brothers in the Blue need to explain the rubber chicken in the ear. It's totally out of context and part of a much larger, more vital mission. Ain't that right, SSgt Alexander Ingram, MSgt Private RallyPoint Member, TSgt John Marshall, SSgt Ed Payne?

I have seen what would probably be considered worse. Like the Security Forces folks at Ellsworth that did a "Shake it Off' video while on duty using their squadrons vehicles. Sure it's fun and I laughed but posting that to YouTube and other social media outlets isn't the best idea.
