No I do not....the USA is highly resilient and not tied to the whims of certain political entities....the part that bothers some of us is that while under the control of those we disagree with, our ability to function within the sphere of control is limited and we lose our ability to enjoy life as much as we could...which would be different if we were in an environment that agreed with our beliefs and political leanings

LTC Private RallyPoint Member While I certainly think our country has been on the wrong path for some time now (particularly in the past 7 years), I do not think it is beyond recovery (yet). If we get the right people in office who will stop the moral decay, racism, runaway deficit, welfare state, etc., etc., we can recover. If not, our country will continue to decay and will eventually only be a footnote in history, like other great societies before us.

No I don't think we have reached that point yet. However, I hope we learned our lesson for rampant imperialism. We have destabilized a good portion of the ME at a tremendous cost to people and our budget.

I don't think we're beyond hope as long as our nation is held together. These views are merely an obverse side of the coin of racism. Until we stop recognizing race as an issue, we will never truly be free of it. This is not to suggest that racists do not exist, but they come from all creeds and colors. Our culture is too fixated on "white on black" or "black on white" crime. How about we worry more about the crime than the color? People need to stop projecting racism where it isn't. I believe we will eventually see this through, but in the mean time this divisive culture has to be recognized for that it is: a malignant stain on our great nation.

The white privilege thing drives me crazy. Use this forum as an example, regardless of our origins, all races are represented in the ranks. Even the post military vets and retirees have different experiences in the job market depending on your personal attributes. What happened to the indentured servants progeny? Or, the sharecroppers? Many of us and our ancestors have had a lot of negativity to contend with, while I agree the blacks endured it for longer than most whites, to consider it today is a crutch. And I hope that all my friends on RP understand what I am saying. I hold you all ion the highest respect. This type of indoctrination does nothing but continue the feelings of victimhood.

LTC Private RallyPoint Member why is it that you link an article about a briefing on white privilege that one battalion EO NCO put together to a question about the country decaying beyond recovery? I don't see the connection between your question and the article you linked to.
