He played, he managed, and although his time was certainly not without controversy he was without a doubt one of a kind !!

Now he has been punished enough, and deserves, at the very least, to be able to once again officially walk with his "colleagues" on the field, and hopefully in the end, have his rightful place in Cooperstown.Response by PVT Robert Gresham made Jul 10 at 2015 5:07 AM2015-07-10T05:07:45-04:002015-07-10T05:07:45-04:00SFC Stephen King804830

It is time. Evidently he pissed off some who were much bigger than the MLB commissioner because no one else has been banned from MLB since to my knowledge. It makes me not want to watch MLB anymore because in other sports more severe infractions occurred and nothing was done about it. Case in point, the New England Patriots and "Deflate Gate." Shameful and clouds the whole Super Bowl 49 win...Response by SCPO Charles Thomas "Tom" Canterbury made Dec 20 at 2015 1:16 PM2015-12-20T13:16:52-05:002015-12-20T13:16:52-05:00CPT Richard Riley1188325

Well, I can say this - I grew up with Pete's kids & have known him since the early 70's. I don't think I have ever met another person who eats, drinks, and sleeps baseball like he does. On the field, there were few who could match his tenacity for the game ... and today most pale in the shadow he cast as a player. On the other hand, as a person, as a human being he is certainly not a role model. That said, what does it have to do with playing baseball between the white chalk lines?
If he is judged solely on the merits of playing the game of baseball, there is a clear answer. If character is made part of the mix, that muddles the question and the answer. It also calls into question a multitude of other inductees whose crimes are overlooked and they walk through the door. That makes you wonder about the whole membership of the hall of fame.Response by CPT Richard Riley made Dec 20 at 2015 1:33 PM2015-12-20T13:33:41-05:002015-12-20T13:33:41-05:002015-07-10T04:08:53-04:00
