The Government needs to take this burden on its own. Do you think it is right or fair to ask veterans on a VA newsletter to assist with the Afghan repatriation? 2021-09-09T16:22:06-04:00 SFC Private RallyPoint Member 7256727

I don’t feel any responsibility for the Administration’s mistake or those who failed their own country in its greatest time of need. Absolutely.

1) Many MANY Afghan vets have been asking what they can do to help. Others have been trying to find ways to cope with personal feelings of failure and / or having let down the folks who workwd with us and were promised SIVs. The VA can serve veterans by helping them find ways to be involved.

2) Veterans, as a group, have proven time and time again, that they are willing and able to go the extra mile. Vets do what needs to be done. ESPECIALLY when their individual or national honor is at stake. Who BETTER to ask for help?

3) These large numbers of people coming over need SOMEWHERE to go. It is all well and good to lay it on the administration to figure out, but what the administration is going to figure out is what home each person can go to, person by person, family by family. Either way, individual Americans are going to have to step up. Unless we want MORE camps like we have at the border for illegal immigrants.
