I think Soldiers need to be in for a minute before the attend but before deployment. They can take a SERE online course (same that is required in Korea) at AIT as a requirement but other than that it should wait. Regardless of MOS, any Soldier involved in a tactical ground movement could find themselves in a scenario where that knowledge is needed.
