I know in priors years it would disqualify a soldier and fail them outright. Has BLC changed on that account?Do you still get dropped from BLC for failing HT/WT?2023-04-12T18:08:36-04:00SGT Private RallyPoint Member8226781<div class="images-v2-count-0"></div>I got my welcome letter and it said that students if they fail HT/WT they get disqualified from the Commandant's List, but nothing on getting dropped from the school. Your BLC hasn't updated their welcome letter.Response by SGM Private RallyPoint Member made Apr 12 at 2023 8:46 PM2023-04-12T20:46:51-04:002023-04-12T20:46:51-04:00MSG Private RallyPoint Member8227059<div class="images-v2-count-0"></div>Yea. Students will report in the Army Physical Fitness Uniform (APFU), and will conduct height and weight in accordance with AR 600-9 upon arrival. Soldiers who do not meet the Army wear and appearance standards will make necessary corrections or provide documentation of an approved exception to the policy prior to course in-processing. Soldiers who fail to make such corrections or produce documentation will be recommended for denied enrollment. " At this particular command, you get sent back to your unit, and other than some Special High Intensity Training ( SHIT) the CSM will be providing the CO 1SG, and that is passed down to the NCO support channel and the SM...It's done, the SM was never enrolled in BLC, so no 1059 is generated. <br />Many think this is done for the benefit of the SM, but I disagree, it's a self-serving policy that allows leadership to fail their duty and their Soldiers and have no lasting repercussions. <br /><br />Train your SM, counsel them, tell them the truth, and lead by example (so ahh SGT, SSG, SFC, MSG, 1SG, CSM if you are 60 lb overweight or otherwise fail to meet 600-9 standards..fix your selves first, or choose to get out)...and provide the opportunity for success, if they choose not to use the opportunity, the training and support... DO YOUR JOB take the time and create the path for involuntary separation.Response by SGM Erik Marquez made Apr 18 at 2023 8:45 AM2023-04-18T08:45:04-04:002023-04-18T08:45:04-04:00SSgt Private RallyPoint Member8238662<div class="images-v2-count-0"></div>I think in the aspect of sending Service Members back from leadership training is one area that the Marine Corps changed policy that makes sense. If they show up to an Academy and fail Ht/Wt or the PFT/CFT they no longer remove them from the course, they still fail and receive and adverse FitRep but they are kept at the academy to receive the leadership training. Chances of getting promoted with the Adverse go to slim to none but you have a better leader for the remainder of their contract.Response by SSgt Private RallyPoint Member made Apr 19 at 2023 1:51 PM2023-04-19T13:51:25-04:002023-04-19T13:51:25-04:00SSG Eric Blue8302283<div class="images-v2-count-0"></div>Absolutely! It's a school. They have standards. And oftentimes, they have 500 students showing up for 300 seats.
