I continue to seek help when I'm feeling better. And I will always seek help, if for no other reason than to help those around me who need it worse than I do.

The most effective help I've received has been group therapy at the VA. It HELPS! I continue group therapy because what I've learned there requires regular reenforcing ... and because I can look at those just showing up and tell them, with the authority of my own experience, that things WILL get better.Response by CPT Christopher Webb made Jan 17 at 2016 11:23 AM2016-01-17T11:23:18-05:002016-01-17T11:23:18-05:00SFC Pete Kain1241158

No, I have trouble just leaving my house. They tend to connect the dots for me. I asked my psychologist if I was fucked up to which he replied, "Ken you are fucked up." I was able to accept that. I think PTSD has sever phases:
1. Survive
2. Love
3. Paint the picture
4. Plan your routes
5. Recover from misteps
6. Spiritualism, passions, arts

I am stuck at 5.5. I think we will all do something not normal cutting down trees with an ax to escape reality. Good luck everyone.
