We had to take off mask and felt like I was on fire and Blind than God when i hit the door a great big wind came up.

Although not the first time, a much better time was when my wife (also a Marine) decided it was a good idea to take a HOT shower after the Gas chamber instead of a cold shower.

There was much laughter from me.

Yes and to make it worse I had a head cold so when they told us to reseal our masks I could not and I could not wait to get out of there. Although I took in a lot of CS I at least was able to maintain the chili-mac they served us for lunch.

Very interesting. To the best of my recollection, we were required to don the equipment after the tent had been flooded with the chemical agent, but never to remove the equipment in a hostile atmosphere.

I might have some trouble approving of that.

(Of course there was that miserable evening in the rain in formation after some field training thing, we had just gotten mail call and the SDI asked "Do you have anything to say, Sir?" to the Company Commander.

CO: "Yes ... ... ... GAS!"

We, of course, dropped everything and geared up.

While I lamented the state of some of my now muddy mail, I did in fact appreciate his intent. Our CO, according to legend, went to RVN as a junior NCO and came back as a 2LT. By the time he got his hands on us, he was a CPT, and had some VERY DEFINITE views on Basic Combat Training. He's on my short list of outstanding officers I have served under.)

I remember it. I also know I was recently placed in ops as the CBRN rep. Company nominated me into this position and I`m in the works of nominating the whole company for gas chamber sensing session. Maybe they should have picked someone else if they didn`t want the gas chamber :D
