I also have two devotionals I read every night, plus whatever book I am reading, so the last thirty or so minutes of my day are devoted to putting good stuff in my head before I go to sleep. The stoning of non virgin women at their fathers doorsteps, killing people who don't want jesus to be their king, and killing a group of children for calling a bald man bald all seem a bit disgusting to me and I don't see how anyone can actually love it. As an example let me use Acts Chapter 10 - as a former member of the Church of Christ I was taught that this chapter was about doing away with the dietary law - upon studying it for myself and reading the WHOLE chapter in CONTEXT I found that it has nothing to do with being able to eat anything we want but it has to do with the Gentiles being offered the gift of eternal life - as Peter himself explains in verse 28 when he talks about "any man common or UNCLEAN".
