You don't have to BE smart to WORK smart.

Figure out the best way for YOU (or for your team) to get the job done - and then go get it done! If you know you are dumber than a box of rocks, but stronger than an ox, find ways to leverage your strength (or know you aren't up to the task, and GET HELP). If you know you are weaker than every guy named "Poindexter," ever, but have an IQ over 1,000 (yes, I know... not possible, but go with me here), then find ways to use your intelligence to compensate for your lack of physical strength (or know you aren't up to the task, and GET HELP). What works best for YOU (or your team)? THAT is working smart.

All that being said - if I HAVE to choose, I will take a hard worker over a smart worker. These attributes are not exclusive. You can do both and should. Working hard, getting the job done under difficult circumstances, is essential to military service. Working smart can be a little more cerebral, but is often based on common sense. Knowing how to arrange tools and parts to get a job done with minimum redundancy is a smart move. Smart can be harder if it involves change.Response by Lt Col Jim Coe made May 22 at 2021 11:27 AM2021-05-22T11:27:25-04:002021-05-22T11:27:25-04:00SGT Dealdre Murrell7530836

Smater not harderResponse by SGT Dealdre Murrell made Feb 16 at 2022 9:16 PM2022-02-16T21:16:41-05:002022-02-16T21:16:41-05:002021-05-20T13:34:39-04:00
