As the UCP uniform is phasing out on 30 September. What's your thoughts on one last wearable opportunity before it gets hanged up forever? I thought it would be fun, but for me, I don't have the tan boots to go with it, nor do I have the proper grey patches. I don't think anyone would mind one day of nostalgia.... would they? I'm sure there is more then one Sergeants Major who will have a migraine. :)

I've hated that pattern since I saw it for the first time in a Ranger Joe's catalog.

Not the most embraced uniform in history to be sure.

COL Thomas F. - I remember when I was in Iraq wearing that pattern and thinking that this was not the most thought out pattern in military history.

No, for two reasons. First, everything is sewn on and the rank on my old UCPs is two pay grades lower than I currently wear. Second, even if it were current I hated the pattern and can’t wait to see it relegated to the annals of history.

PFC Jeffrey Herrington from July 2015 to now I’ve seen no issues with personnel choosing the velcro rank and tapes. I still have sets without the extras sewn on. Since pin on rank isn’t really feasible with the OCP blouse, promotion ceremonies really have to take place in a Velcro only uniform.

Sorry, but I hated that whole outfit. I would rather bring back BDU's and black polishable boots for one more day.
