However, due to mission requirements, a DA Photo has not been at the top of my priority list. Once I return from Afghanistan, it will be though.<br /><br />However, to answer your question, no. Soldiers do not require attention to detail training. Those who choose to not present themselves as their best should simply not get selected for promotions or anything that is rewarding in nature. That is their own fault for neglecting to take care of that which should be.Response by SFC Private RallyPoint Member made May 28 at 2015 4:24 PM2015-05-28T16:24:17-04:002015-05-28T16:24:17-04:001SG Private RallyPoint Member703487<div class="images-v2-count-0"></div>Personally I feel this is an individual responsiblity for it is your own career if you dont do it correct and with pride well then dont be mad if not selected. With that said though I have known 2 Soldiers that have been picked up in past years for MSG that still had SSG on there DA photo but yet the AAR comments stated this was a reason for not being picked up so it makes me wonder if this is true to what is put in the AAR comments. But again to me it is not worth the risk for my career.Response by 1SG Private RallyPoint Member made May 28 at 2015 4:58 PM2015-05-28T16:58:44-04:002015-05-28T16:58:44-04:00TSgt Joshua Copeland703536<div class="images-v2-count-0"></div>Did the unit's 1SG and SGM/CSM not review the package first? Having discipline requires personal discipline, Personal core values & personal core principles. If we all have each others' back's [allegedly], such chevron instances wouldn't happen. The USAF & USA both emphasized to our BN "check yourself, check your buddy, check yourself, check your buddy." I pity the fool who stops teaching this basic principle & I pity the fool who doesn't receive this principle ergo doesn't carry A2D through their military service in practice. ///ACL\\\Response by SSgt Anne Moor-Lane made May 28 at 2015 8:59 PM2015-05-28T20:59:25-04:002015-05-28T20:59:25-04:002015-05-28T16:06:18-04:00
