LTC Ed Ross891987

I don't know that any active duty or retired veteran has been prosecuted for this, but technically just because a classified document is leaked to and appears in the media doesn't mean it isn't still classified. Downloading and storing such documents on your computer is a security violation. DoD has issued several such warnings with the Wikileaks and Bradley Manning leaks. Now, to the best of my knowledge, DoD doesn't go around looking for people who have done this, but should you get in their crosshairs for some other reason, they may well use it against you. Read the article and the document, but don't store it.

http://www.nytimes.com/2015/08/16/us/politics/att-helped-nsa-spy-on-an-array-of-internet-traffic.html?_r=0
