I get that’s not the correct amount but am I completely wrong? Is there a reg somewhere saying ibhge to wear the exact amount on my erb? I thought it was okay to wear less oak leafs rather than add more than what you got? I looked at AR 600-8-22 and that didn’t help. Do you have to wear the correct amount of oak leaf clusters on ASU’s AAM Ribbon that match your erb? 2019-12-19T02:36:07-05:00 SGT Private RallyPoint Member 5358561

Example : I have 4 AAMS and on my ASU’s I have the AAM ribbon and 2 oak leaf clusters. Commanders may require the wear of authorized awards on the following occasions: (1) Parades, reviews, inspections, and funerals.
(2) Ceremonial and social occasions.
b. Unless directed by a commander per paragraph 20–2a, authorized awards are worn at the option of the wearer,

If the commander requires wear of authorized awards, that means every award you are authorized.
If you are wearing them by option, that still implies all. That being said, it’s frowned upon to not have your ASUs matching your ERB.

Back when I was a SPC, my PSG has a heart to heart with the platoon. He said that we aren’t required to wear any awards on our uniform unless directed, but our ASUs are our “military resume” and we should take the opportunity to put our “best foot forward”. That always stuck with me. Response by 1LT Private RallyPoint Member made Dec 19 at 2019 9:57 AM 2019-12-19T09:57:47-05:00 2019-12-19T09:57:47-05:00 2019-12-19T02:36:07-05:00
