But yes. There are a few non airborne slots there, but they are very few, most of them are in joint units. There's an MI unit there as well that I think is non airborne. But the majority of Soldiers in Italy are in the 173rd and it's an Airborne unit. So if you wanted to request Italy and you weren't Airborne, it would be very difficult to get.Response by SFC Private RallyPoint Member made Apr 25 at 2019 6:57 AM2019-04-25T06:57:20-04:002019-04-25T06:57:20-04:00SFC(P) Private RallyPoint Member4577743<div class="images-v2-count-0"></div>Are you still in the Corps or transferred to the Army? If you are in the Army it will be very hard to find a slot because the 173rd is an airborne division. One of my old Gunnery sergeants back in 2001 was stationed in Italy I believe at a naval base his wife was from Italy he said he loved it. But I don't know to much about the bases or units the corps would have attached over in Italy.Response by SFC(P) Private RallyPoint Member made Apr 25 at 2019 7:37 AM2019-04-25T07:37:03-04:002019-04-25T07:37:03-04:00SFC Private RallyPoint Member4579137<div class="images-v2-count-0"></div>You don’t have to be airborne qualified but it is harder if you’re not. They only have minimal positions and MOSs for non-airborne. I have a couple of friends in Italy now that are not airborne. I suggest Once you’re back on active duty to contact your branch manager to see if they can assist with you receiving assignment instructions to Italy. Good luck to you...Response by SFC Private RallyPoint Member made Apr 25 at 2019 3:56 PM2019-04-25T15:56:26-04:002019-04-25T15:56:26-04:00SSG Private RallyPoint Member4588190<div class="images-v2-count-0"></div>No I am stationed at Darby and it is not requiredResponse by SSG Private RallyPoint Member made Apr 28 at 2019 8:45 PM2019-04-28T20:45:18-04:002019-04-28T20:45:18-04:00SSG Michael Vance4599751<div class="images-v2-count-0"></div>There is an Airborne unit in Vicenza Italy, but there is no requirements to be airborne qualified just to be stationed in ItalyResponse by SSG Michael Vance made May 2 at 2019 9:41 PM2019-05-02T21:41:17-04:002019-05-02T21:41:17-04:002019-04-25T01:40:11-04:00
