Do you have any good/bad stories of Veterans Day promotions? https://www.rallypoint.com/answers/do-you-have-any-good-bad-stories-of-veterans-day-promotions

My good experience: I ate breakfast at an IHOP (great service), and I tipped the waitress the value of the free meal that I was provided. I paid it forward, an idea I got here on RP from LCpl Steven Fiore.

My bad experience: I called about the free oil change offer from Meineke, but five different locations all gave me excuses why they couldn't honor the promotion. They said everything from "We've ran out of oil" to "We are too busy" to "Drop off your car and we'll 'try' to get to it." On Veterans Day, the owner covered the cost of all Vets their cup of coffee. I didn't know about the promo and I had not stopped there that particular day. But a few days later, I had stopped in for coffee. I was wearing my Iraqi Vet hat, and was in the process of handing over cash for the coffee when the owner said to the attendant that my cup was free. I was puzzled so I naturally asked why, and he said it was for Vets Day and since I wasn't in that morning, he was giving it to me that moment.
