I am an Air Force critical care nurse and worked in the ICU in our EMEDS. We received a patient who was a young local Iraqi female who came to our gate because she was injured due to physical abuse by her father. We brought her in and cared for her and kept her at our base as long as possible to protect her from her family. Her father made every effort to get her back but we knew what would happen if she would return. She was able to be relocated after a few weeks and as far as we know she remained safe. Situations like that really stress the importance of how well we have it as Americans. Col Private RallyPoint Member Fri, 26 Jun 2015 10:36:40 -0400 2015-06-26T10:36:40-04:00 2015-06-26T09:30:15-04:00
