Do you have a Service/Companionship animal; and if so, how is that working out for the two of you?

I have a cat.
When I get older, however, (And if I need one) I would love to have a trained Companionship/Service Dog.

No. I thought about it since we just put our 14yo Boxer/Akita down. :( It's hard to loose a part of the family so I don't know if I'll try to get one...

I've never understood the term "Companionship" animal. Service animal I get, it's a no-brainer. But companionship? Isn't that what our pets already provide?

Regardless, I have a dog. He's goofy, stubborn, and has cost me thousands in vet bills. Would I do anything different if I could start over? Hell no. I love him more than I do most people and at times I love him more than I love members of my immediate family (particularly my wife)!

Yes I do and it's wonder full. His name is johnny cash. It helps that I get training from Cain nine with a cause.
