Do you guys support Dr. Ben Carson?

I am his Presidential Campaign Director for the U.S. Virgin Islands and I currently serve in the National Guard. I would like an honest opinion, whether or not my brothers and sisters think the candidate would be great for the job.

I will do my best to answer any question posed.

I think he is a brilliant doctor with great accomplishments however I believe international affairs seems to be a constant stumbling block for him. He has a very limited window to change people's minds.

I like him. Partly because he's the guy that he is, but also partly because he's not a Washington insider and I believe that he would be a guy that put the country's best interest above political expedience.

Very interesting gentleman and seems to be on track with great morals and ethics. Seems to know his stuff and not as crazy as some of the runners!

The man has no concept of foreign policy. He lies, and then doubles down after being caught red handed, about his connection to a known pharmaceutical scam operation. He has zero experience in government, which is admittedly a curse or a blessing depending on perspective. As a registered independent Carson, Trump, and Clinton round out my three candidates I will never vote for and in my opinion should never hold any kind of office.

Do I want him as my President. No, but I like and respect the man. And anyone who buys themselves out there for any office. I could ask the majority of RP members. If there personnel life could stand the scrutiny that the media is giving him.

I was rooting for him before he officially announced he was running. I think he's smarter than most of the other candidates combined, particularly Hillary and Bernie

I like Dr Carson, in general, but I vote Libertarian, so he doesn't get my vote.

I would vote for him over any of the Democrats running and most of the republican candidates. However, I wish he would realize that everything he says comes under scrutiny and do not wander off into uncharted territory.

SSG Private RallyPoint Member Although I find Dr. Carson to be a likeable, and honorable man, I would not vote for him based on the following issues: 1. Lack of experience in politics, or big business. 2. A lack of familiarity with the foreign policy. 3. His tax plan. 4. His lack of a stated plan for the US Military, and the Veterans, other than dissolving the VA. (I think a better idea is to FIX the VA.)

So, I would have one question. What exactly is Dr. Carson planning to do for Veterans when he gets rid of the VA? Where will support for Veterans, and their needs be coming from under his plan?

I would vote for Dr. Carson over any of the Democratic candidates, but at this time I would not personally vote for him as the Republican nominee. Just my two cents.

We've done much, much worse and still could given the current list of candidates on both sides. Given his intelligence I would hope he would have the common sense to surround himself with competent appointees rather than sycophants. He interned and worked in the VA so he knows the VA cannot be fixed and that privatizing VA services would work better than what we have now. His pacifist religious beliefs (7th Day Adventist) have me concerned given the current need to destroy ISIS, et.al. Overall he is a man of character and I admire him and all that he's accomplished.

I like him a lot; he's brilliant, honest and has shown himself to be amongst the best in one of the most difficult fields there is. That said, I'm torn and go back and forth between viewing his complete lack of political experience as either his greatest strength or greatest weakness. Ultimately, I think he'd be better in a position like Secretary of Health & Human Services or a Representative or Senator than as President.

My concern with him is his lack of experience in dealing with policy. I know being an outsider helps him politically but I am more concerned about how he will deal with national security and foreign policy.
