Do you find it weird that this site will not let you delete content? Are you at all concerned that your data will be on this site forever?

EVERYTHING lives FOREVER in ... Cyberspace.

So long as 2LT (Join to see) and the RP admin-bangers don't delete it! before it gets posted to another site. Mwa, Ha Ha Ha Ha!!!! :-0

In space, nobody can hear you text...

or type or laugh, or backspace or hit the delete key.

MAJ Robert Petrarca et al., That is so true I am constantly telling my kids once you send ANY electronic communication it lives forever somewhere on some data storage device. I work in IT security and worked on the product used by a 3 letter agency to record everything IP based. Now to make sure this gets recorded Echelon, Echelon, Echelon.

SCPO,
Here at RallyPoint we are all about discussion. The sharing of ideas, experiences and knowledge is one of the cornerstone of the community.

The threads members create that promote discussion belong, in a way, to the community as a whole and removing them takes away information that others might be seeking.

That being said, we are quick to delete inappropriate, redundant and frivolous threads.

We are always striving to secure the best experience for members, part of that involves not taking away valued discussion. The other part involves not leaving up discussion that could result in negative consequences.

If you or another member feels that a thread created might negatively impact your life/career/experience please feel free to message or e-mail me ( [login to see] ) and we can work it out.

Best Regards

I can see (in a weird, twisted, perverted, demented way) why that useless, ridiculous, assinine pile of muleshit must stay for posterior - but can't we close that thread and stop it's repetitive, inane and totally mindnumbing crap? I mean, can't we like stop the input and archive it?

... Wait a minute PO1 (Join to see), just dropped my crayon. Ok, all set now. I'm still amazed that it pops to the top of the list when I look at discussions which means someone somewhere is actually posting to it. In all honesty I haven't looked at in in some time. One can simply unfollow it which the good folks at RP have allowed us to do. To cap input on it...Hmm, doesn't seem to be a terrible idea but then it limits freedom of expression and ultimately, wait for it...freedom of speech. I start ignoring my own posts when I see comments to them - like that whole naming the ships thingee.

OH....I unfollowed that thread so long ago it's pitiful. Your argument regarding "freedom of speech" is not as strong as it would appear at first blush. MAJ Robert (Bob) Petrarca I'm not trying to stifle someone's voice - but I think we've overdone this with the thread in discussion. I've actually gone through and read every comment - EVERY COMMENT - in that thread. There's only so many ways to say "we did this at my last post" or "there a local instruction on that" or "DA - umptifrats states...." or "if you read AR - blah, blah, blah".

It's a ridiculous thread. It serves no purpose. There hasn't been a unique, thoughtful, incisive, useful to the subject matter comment in a long time.

Now, the above comment can be used for just about any thread on RP - but keeping this thread running on a subject matter that really, really doesn't matter....seriously? ARCHIVE it I say!

So true. All the 3 letter, alphabet soup agencies know where to find me if they need me. FB is actually an FBI front - think about it - Operation "J. Edgar, suck the info in like a Hoover vacuum cleaner"
