Yes Capt Brandon Charters, while not looking into the evidence specifically, I believe from past experience with Facebook that the social network has been deliberately filtering their trending topics news section. I have seen a liberal/progressive lean to Facebook for many years.

They have admitted to manually (human techs) filtering and editing their algorithm based along political ideology. So, Yes.

If you are getting news from Facebook and actually trusting that it as a credible news source than you are wrong. You should strive to become Media Literate, that is--get your news from multiple, professional media outlets. Facebook is not a news outlet, it is a social media site where news articles often appear.

Am I against it? I'm pretty apathetic, I don't really care. Other than this site, I usually don't use social media such as Facebook for political reasons, or to post opinions. I use it for entertainment and network with old friends.

Everything that has happen since this story broke has been "damage control" by Mark Zukerberg and the FB staff. The more they deny the more I see the fire behind the smoke. Also, I felt that it was strange that the very things I and my wide circle of "friends" were interested in never seem to hit the trending box. My gut was telling me there was some suppression but now I think we have the truth.

They have a culture of liberals that work for them. While Zukerberg may have not directed his employees to do so, they may have did it own there own. In their defense if was in that position not sure if my biases would not come into play also.

I don't know or care honestly... I do not turn to FB for news. I could not tell you what is "trending" on FB. Thus I don't care if they put a personal spin on what is put out there.. Did FB ever make a mission statement that stated they would not? I would have assumed what you see is what the site owners wanted you to see and nothing more. No different the Rally Point. the Site owners seek and display the content they want you to see, they publish content that leads to their personal goals for this site. In no way does anyone believe they do so for the single purpose of philanthropy.....not to say it's greed and money over content, but content and direction based on personal beliefs, wants, needs. No different than any other public site.. the site owners drive the content and direction.

Are they using an algorithm, Of course. what software doesn't. Does it have a "Political" Agenda, I don't think so. Does it have a "Profit" Agenda, I would hope so otherwise they have a Suck Ass Business Model.
