Do you feel race relations is the job of the President? I personally don't think it is. What do y'all think?

It is very hard to pass a law that requires an ass to stop being an ass. The best thing we can do is get to know each other and find out we're not so different after all.

It is the job of the President to enforce the law. I know that many may have forgotten this inasmuch as the President of the past eight years has busied himself more with making laws while his AG picks and chooses which laws the President will enforce. But that is his job. Some lays relate to race relations such as investigating violations of anit-discriminatory practices in hiring and pay. In that, his job extends to race relations.

SFC(P) Private RallyPoint Member Great question, and I think if we start looking at personal relations in a positive way that the race component may (hopefully, sez he) will fall into place. As another poster has observed, POTUS needs to be a model.

Race relations is a part of the POTUS job in as much as it is his job to be a leader and an example of what America is all about. That is one of the great failures of obama, he was quick to lecture us about who we are, but he felt no need to lead by examples. He too often rushed into areas of race, jumped to incorrect conclusions, and gave birth to a racial divide in a way that the KKK never could.

I think it is job of all citizens and especially the President because he, or she, is supposed to represent all of 'We the People' BUT the real question is what does that really mean? Leading sometimes means looking someone in the eyes and telling them they need to step up. Pointing out a proportionately high rate of crime in a certain community is not racist...using race as an excuse for that crime or violence is, in my opinion.

Race relations is the job for all Americans not Politicans who have the Tendencies to screw things up.and thanks to former President Barrack Obama race relations are in the crap house.
