I reclassed back in November 2014 and returned during Christmas block leave. Upon returning on 5 Jan 2015 I turned in a levy packet to my unit orderly room which at that time would have had plenty of time to receive my brief and clear post. I was told I would have a brief the following week but levy said they never received my packet . Long story short and a lot of running around and phone calls later I finally had my levy brief 03 feb 2015 and since my deferment I had to rush and turn in due to my levy packet not getting to the COL. Till the end of the month due to a FTX . I feel at this point this BN takes its (training) more serious than my AWOL status due to how I've tried to reach out for help . There is no reason that I am facing this issue and wonder who else has gone through this much trouble in the past because no one is ever held accountable for BN not taking care of the soldiers paper work their BIGGEST priority . I just wanted to vent some steam and wonder if anyone else out there is struggling and feeling ignored. Oh and not to mention a soldier just failed an APFT his Flag paper work was taken to the feild signed and returned in 24 hours.Response by SSG(P) Private RallyPoint Member made Feb 4 at 2015 1:56 PM2015-02-04T13:56:54-05:002015-02-04T13:56:54-05:001SG Private RallyPoint Member454451

SSG(P) Private RallyPoint Member on the surface it seems you have a valid point, but for the sake of fairness, I would need more details. I'm unaware of a requirement to have an O6/COL sign a levy packet which seems like an odd policy for a unit to have. It does seem as though the S1 needs to be more engaged with your unit leadership (1SG and Co CDR).Response by 1SG Private RallyPoint Member made Feb 4 at 2015 2:03 PM2015-02-04T14:03:40-05:002015-02-04T14:03:40-05:00CSM Michael J. Did you turn in your documents to the orderly room and not follow up, did you ask the Platoon (or Squad Leader/Section) Sergeant, how often did you ask the 1SG? and yes, you know I'm gonna ask you....did you bring it to your CSM?

When we consider our own personal duty, we all share the individual blame when our administrative actions are allowed to go stagnant.Response by CSM Michael J. If I had a soldier that was suppose to get promoted, but for some reason my unit didn't push it - I would push it. Inquire, try to hunt down the reason why there was no movement.

This happened to me.. .went to the board, passed it, and then... didn't end up on the PPLR. I was the first and only one that went for 11 slots. One soldier, going for 11 open slots. My first line supervisor was too busy doing... nothing. Didn't give a shit. Outstanding leadership has never been so misrepresented.Response by SGT Private RallyPoint Member made Aug 27 at 2015 11:57 AM2015-08-27T11:57:57-04:002015-08-27T11:57:57-04:002015-02-04T13:43:00-05:00
