Skin color has never mattered to me, neither does their native language, or the way they dress out of uniform. We are all brother and sisters, and as such should be respectful of their thoughts and opinions. Thanks for bringing this up.

Charles SPC Charles Brown Mon, 11 May 2015 11:54:34 -0400 2015-05-11T11:54:34-04:00 Response by SSgt Private RallyPoint Member made May 11 at 2015 1:12 PM https://www.rallypoint.com/answers/do-you-care-about-your-unit-s-buddies-who-do-not-party-drink-or-speak-the-same-language-as-those-of-your-clique?n=659688&urlhash=659688

There was a girl in my old office that I butted heads with ALL THE TIME. Even when we had out spats and avoided each other we always made sure we were all still good. Once she moved offices our working relationship and friendship improved 3 fold. It was weird, like we were competing in a competition that didn't exist because she thought I was always trying to one up her. We had a few heart to hearts and I told her I was just doing the work I was assigned and doing it to the best of my ability, whether it was better than what she was doing I couldn't say as we had different methods and it seemed our leadership was proud of both products. That eased a lot of the tension prior to her going to the base honor guard, then to a new office at the Wing. Once that happened I think we enhanced each others work/skills by having different insights and being able to cross compare what we were doing. At the end of the day we were always one team, and I think our issues helped us both grow at our job performance and personally as we learned to work with our differences. I think a lot of it stemmed from me being the new guy, and some of her duties moved to me because I needed trained on the programs and work. Hind sight I feel like I threatened her somehow and I was "unapologetic" for my drive to put out my best product.
