I think there is evidence of other life within our own solar system; microbial or bacterial life on Mars or Europa is still life. It’s not a far leap, therefore, that there is intelligent life beyond earth.<br /><br />But the likelihood of us ever finding it is remote. According to Universe Today, our ancestors have been here for six million years, modern humans only 700,000. The planet is four billion years old, the universe is just under 14 billion. If we are not the only ones here, intelligent lifeforms have risen and fallen multiple times in that span. We are separated by huge gulfs of time and space that we will never overcome.Response by SSgt Private RallyPoint Member made Aug 25 at 2017 11:19 AM2017-08-25T11:19:28-04:002017-08-25T11:19:28-04:00SGT Lou Meza2866304<div class="images-v2-count-0"></div>I believe there are intelligent life forms out there . Some equal to or more intelligent than ours . At this time since we are a type 0 civilization we are not advanced enough to explore beyond our solar system. We need to advance at the least to a type 1 civilization. It could happen but it would not be in our lifetimes. Maybe in 100-200 years we could be a type 1 civilization being able to harness the energy of our entire solar system.Response by SGT Lou Meza made Aug 25 at 2017 12:38 PM2017-08-25T12:38:37-04:002017-08-25T12:38:37-04:00SN Greg Wright2866841<div class="images-v2-count-0"></div>It's a statistical impossibility that we are the only life in the universe. With trillions of planets, some few billions will be earth-like, and some of those will have developed life. And that's just carbon-based life. Who knows about other kinds (silicon, etc). That said, they'll never come here, if for no other reason than that there's nothing here that can't be found in any asteroid belt in the universe.Response by SN Greg Wright made Aug 25 at 2017 3:28 PM2017-08-25T15:28:24-04:002017-08-25T15:28:24-04:002017-08-25T09:35:42-04:00
