Do you believe children should be writing cop killers in prison?

I just read an article where a school teacher had 3rd graders as an assignment write to a cop killer in prison. This is wrong in my eyes. As a parent if that teacher would have done that I would have sued her on a personal level too. We are loosing rights to our own children more and more. Life is not just affecting us adults.

The moron in question – Marilyn Zuniga – thought it would be perfectly acceptable to have her kids send Abu-Jamal a collection of letters after she learned that the controversial figure was in ill health.

Our School System is completely out of control and needs to be overhauled.

There are many "Teachers" who are completely out of control and need to be removed.

You cannot influence based on your beliefs. That is not what their job is. The Position has a curriculum and that is what should be followed!

That individual needs to be FIRED for good!

I'm having trouble getting past the source of your news... "Patriot News Daily". Whether true or not, the article is littered with a lack of journalistic integrity and full of inciting language.
Furthermore, there is the generalization that this applies to schools nationwide as opposed to the isolated incident of a single teacher's lack of judgment.

As for the question itself, it would depend... Context and comprehension has a lot to do with the learning value of a given assignment. Even for a 3rd grader...

NO! What was her political motivation in having students do this? There are far MORE BETTER persons that can be written to: IE Cops - Firefighters, deployed military, emergency room medical staff ect.

BUT now a day too many teachers with very far leaning liberal ideology in elementary-high school-college that through their teaching are doing a dis-service to our children. Enough said
