I am absolutely appalled by her refusal to honor service members requests for DD214s. Separation from the military isn't a choice, it's a deeply held belief and some people were just born wanting to separate from the military. She should be arrested for this. #ServiceMemberSeparationsMatter

Army Clerk refuses to issue DD214s based on her values! Are you serious? This is a Specialist in the US Army. She has no right to refuse based on anything. I am all for having your own personal beliefs, but refusing to do your job based on said beliefs is insane! Maybe the ol' Article 15 might give this young lady a change of heart!

Absolutly NOT!!! It is not her place to judge any one's service and looking at her own, Spc David herself has previously collected a string of Article 15’s for public indecency, dereliction of duty, and misappropriation of government equipment in addition to the investigation into her Government Travel Card Charges, she should be the last one to make those determinations.

This Soldier needs to do her job, regardless if she thinks others are deserving or not. That is the Commander's job, not hers. She seems to be arrogant saying she's the only one who can complete a DD214, give me a reg and I'm sure I could do it! Perhaps a set of mosquito wings would straighten her out.

It is our constitutional right to be separated from military service, no matter what our beliefs are regarding wanting to become lifers. I hope the clerk get jail time for this and her subordinates take over issuing the 214s. However, I wonder if the subordinate-issued documents will still be legal. Maybe I can move to another service and have my 214 issued there instead.

What the hell is with these people?? Do your JOB!!!!! Follow the written regulations... and NO they do not have anything to do with what you personally think!!! I am soooo over others pushing their personal views and beliefs into the lives of others. My life is not your life. Laws, regulations and directives are there for equality and uniformity not individualism. What makes people think that everyone wants to be like them in there personal views? Everyone's view is different based on the experiences and choices they make in life. That is the very core of freedom. I would like to know who gave her that much authority? Her job is to issue paperwork and not judge a fellow service member.I will bet that when it comes time for her to separate from the military that she would be screaming bloody murder if she did not get her DD 214. i had to read through the comments to see that this was from duffelblog, which i also had to read further to find out that it is like "the onion". i saw this and thought for a second, how did she get away with that at all? you don't get to make choices like that in the military, you would at the very least get in some serious trouble with your NCO to go have a "smoke" session.. and if that continued you would be reassigned and probably have to meet with your colonel.. can we say article 15?
