Do you agree or disagree with RallyPoint deleting your Questions?

Yes, it even happens to us Admins. I thinks it's crap. If there are two of the same discussion, I can understand the merge. If it is a DEGRADING question where one would have to question Character, I would understand. NOT, if you would like to be one person for a day, who would you be and why? This could be very political and militarily based topic. AND Yes, I am upset.

How do you feel about your questions being deleted:
A. after you all ready had some upvotes and responses.
B. without being asked if there was a way you could reword it to keep the community engaged.

Can't say I've ever had a question or a comment deleted?

What does it take for that to happen?

On it's face Id say not happy with that... But really not enough info to make a educated judgment or opinion.
What was the question asked? What was the reason given for removal?

Yes, I too have had questions merged. I also sometimes feel I'm responding to the same questions more than once.

I just became an admin and according to the guidelines, if a post that asks the same question has already "taken on a life of its own" then don't merge it. You can interpret that for what it's worth but if one discussion has 30 responses and another 2 and they discuss the same question from a similar point of view then one should be shut down

If your question is merged, you still keep whatever points you have earned from opening that discussion and the responses.

There are a lot of duplicate questions out there. My advice is when you open a new discussion, and it gives you the list of similar discussions, open up another RP window and do a search on the keywords in your question in the new window as there are many more potential topics than as are listed in the new discussions window. Sometimes there may be a few different words in the other question than yours but the question has already been asked.

Yes I agree it may not seem fair when your question is merged - been there - but the effort is to keep duplicates to a minimum and have a reasonably searchable archive.

I don't think appropriate questions should be deleted once other members have started responding to them or without the original poster being afforded the opportunity to amend the question in a way that would make its deletion unnecessary.

BTW SGT Private RallyPoint Member, I have not deleted anybody's questions ... or done any other "admin" type thing, for that matter. :-)
