Do the revisions of the postpartum policy included in AD 2022-06 apply to me?

I am currently in the USAR and had a baby in February of this year. I'm being told that the revisions of the postpartum policy included in AD 2022-06 do not apply to me due to my birth event occuring prior to the date the AD was approved. I'm mainly focusing on the excused UTAs allowed by the directive. Do I rock the boat or do the revisions truly not apply to me? I haven't taken this higher than unit level, hoping this is a misunderstanding.

None of the changes would apply retroactively, but the changes going forward would absolutely apply.

For example, regarding the excused UTAs, they apply for the next six UTAs, so that would have been March/April .. you don't get them now. However the excusal from events >1 day is for 365 from birth - anything where you'd be away from your home for more than one day is excused (i.e., traditional AT, but if they had you doing AT at your armory where you'd return home every day, that would be allowed).

This sounds like an education issue with your personnel section. Talk with the commander before taking it higher than that, but it's very likely you're the first situation they have encountered and don't have the right guidance.
