Do public/private partnership work in the technology field?

Both public and private tend to have different strengths and weaknesses, the private sector tends to be much better at attracting top talent and the government is sometimes able to take and fund important projects which might require decades to complete such as development of the internet, the microchip and GPS.

I work with Infragard, a public/private entity. It seems to serve its purpose.

CPO Dickey: Could you be more specific what type of partner ship are you referring to. I happen to work on a government system specifically designed through Sharepoint to allow information sharing...thank you.
