In Korea, if you go to the movies they play there national anthem and you will get in trouble if you do not stand. Its about respect. If you have a dependant who is&nbsp;non US you should fill them in on respect if they dont know.Response by SFC Private RallyPoint Member made Mar 2 at 2014 4:15 PM2014-03-02T16:15:11-05:002014-03-02T16:15:11-05:00MSgt Private RallyPoint Member135202<div class="images-v2-count-0"></div>My wife is not a citizen and still stops and places her hand over her heart for the National anthem whether at a ceremony or during retreat. She's more patriotic than some actual citizens.Response by MSgt Private RallyPoint Member made May 26 at 2014 4:13 AM2014-05-26T04:13:08-04:002014-05-26T04:13:08-04:00SPC Private RallyPoint Member240961<div class="images-v2-count-0"></div>In my opinion everybody should stop for retreat. Being a naturalized citizen myself, I make sure if I am outside I stop what I am doing and pay my respect.Response by SPC Private RallyPoint Member made Sep 14 at 2014 4:59 PM2014-09-14T16:59:22-04:002014-09-14T16:59:22-04:00SSG Private RallyPoint Member416331<div class="images-v2-count-0"></div>Required? When you're a visitor in someone's home or someone's country, you honor them by observing their customs. It's simply genteel. It's simply good etiquette.Response by CDR Michael Goldschmidt made Jul 11 at 2015 6:46 PM2015-07-11T18:46:09-04:002015-07-11T18:46:09-04:00SSgt Charles Edwards812905<div class="images-v2-count-0"></div>It's required to stop during retreat and render proper courtesies.
