I just hit my 24 month tis and I have around 8 months tig as Pfc and I’m ultimately curious if there’s different requirements or if I’m currently eligible for promotion based on tis and tig.Do junior enlisted promotions in the Reserves have the same TIS and TIG requirements as active duty?2021-04-17T19:32:04-04:00SGT(P) Private RallyPoint Member6909793<div class="images-v2-count-0"></div>Question for anyone actively serving or retired from the reserves, do junior enlisted promotions have the same tis and tig requirements as active duty? Your commander needs to sign approval on the 4187 that will advance you to SPC. If you just hit 24 months, relax. It'll come around.Response by MSG Private RallyPoint Member made Apr 18 at 2021 4:52 AM2021-04-18T04:52:35-04:002021-04-18T04:52:35-04:00SSG Private RallyPoint Member6910967<div class="images-v2-count-0"></div>Yup, its all the same regulation for reserves and active duty. Refer to ar 600-8-19 on apd.army.mil for further guidance.Response by SSG Private RallyPoint Member made Apr 18 at 2021 10:38 AM2021-04-18T10:38:15-04:002021-04-18T10:38:15-04:00SPC Private RallyPoint Member6911302<div class="images-v2-count-0"></div>They're the same.<br />There is a difference in the waiver requirement regarding limits, but otherwise it's the same.<br />If you've hit your TIS and TIG you should be promoted soon. I wouldn't worry about it, as they will back date your promotion so you don't lose out on pay.<br />If it takes too long just remind your NCO chain so they can push up the 4187.Response by SPC Private RallyPoint Member made Apr 18 at 2021 1:33 PM2021-04-18T13:33:23-04:002021-04-18T13:33:23-04:00CSM Danny S.6916060<div class="images-v2-count-0"></div>Talk to your squad leader, they should be able to get the status or at least an answer. Sometimes the actual promotion lags behind.Response by CSM Danny S. made Apr 20 at 2021 2:35 PM2021-04-20T14:35:38-04:002021-04-20T14:35:38-04:00PFC Chester Southworth6987702<div class="images-v2-count-0"></div>Ahahahahahahah good joke. My LT had already put in for my promotion to E-4. But my next LT was from my home town and we had never got along. He called me into his office his first day tore up my my paper work and informed me I would never get another promotion as long as he was my platoon leader! And I never did. I tried transferring he blocked it. Went to the company commander did no good! I recently heard he is now out and back in our home town! I am sure looking forward to reconnecting with him!
