Do I need to get any documentation for the MEB I'm going through, been in 5 yrs National Guard, plus 3 Army Reserve, plus 16 active duty?

This in total make 24 years on the 15th of September, so currently is 23. I'm currently on active duty and going through an MEB just wondering if I need any type of documentation for this process.

What ever documents they end up asking you. If you can, get a hold of ALL of your medical documents from the Guard and Reserve. You may be able to....no promises though.....get them from National Archives

You should have a copy of everything. If not you certainly need to gain it. You also need to be cognizant of what your your separation date might be if it goes through. I am not 100 percent sure regarding which retirement you take, or what happens if the MEB is approved before you have the years of combined service to retire normally, that Leeds to which is best.

Anyway, you need to be sure that you know all of the issues surrounding each.

It should all be in your iperms. If it's not, you need to make sure you get your DA 5016, NGB23 and any DD214s uploaded into there

How many active duty years do you have to include training like basic training and AIT and deployments in the NG and RC. If you get medically retired, I think they will give you a lump sum.
