More than likely. A lot of it will depend on country laws. You'll need to check with your Motor Sergeant and your Command.

Probably. Check with your command. I had to carry a Hazmat First Responder Certification as an Engineer Officer.

If the EU has anything to say about very likely. There is also a very stringent vehicle maintenance and modification standard all HAZMAT carrying vehicles have to meet called ADR. If the 984 tows anything Hazmat, then it has to meet that standard too. This is what we’re bringing 4ID units up to standard on in 2016-2017.

The unit should have gotten guidance on this

As a pervious 1SG, PSG, Motor SGT & Wheeled & Track operator & Mechanic - here is all the regulations, training manuals for hazardous materials.

All licensed equipment operators should have gone through the training courses as well as taking proper test to gain their license. This definitely should have included the instruction hazardous materials! And this is basic information! Soldiers who operate equipment should also receive ongoing training, refreshment, as well as new standards and regulations when they are changed or updated. This goes for both conus and oconus. The Army has one standard.
