The Commander can deny your leave based on mission. Does your NCOs and Commander know that your wife is having spinal surgery and will need you there during her recuperation?Response by MSG Private RallyPoint Member made Mar 5 at 2020 8:03 PM2020-03-05T20:03:29-05:002020-03-05T20:03:29-05:00Cpl Private RallyPoint Member5633839<div class="images-v2-count-0"></div>It is ITX maybe I’m wrong but my shop has a lot of Cpls and if I’m not there I don’t think anyone will noticeResponse by Cpl Private RallyPoint Member made Mar 6 at 2020 7:04 AM2020-03-06T07:04:55-05:002020-03-06T07:04:55-05:00CWO3 Private RallyPoint Member5634234<div class="images-v2-count-0"></div>Who is they and how does "they's" boss feel about it? Stick to enlisted chain until zeros get involved. Unless the firex is for cert. and/or it puts you in the hole on leave, I'd certainly grant it if the mission allowed it. Don't forget Navy/USMC Relief if you need help with travel $. Avoid advance pay if you can. Good luck to you both.Response by CWO3 Private RallyPoint Member made Mar 6 at 2020 9:38 AM2020-03-06T09:38:11-05:002020-03-06T09:38:11-05:00Lt Col Jim Coe5634263<div class="images-v2-count-0"></div>Agree with those who say take the issue up the chain. Get an email from the surgeon or his/her nurse practitioner saying it’s important your wife have your support during surgery and recovery. Attach copy to leave request. Also get Chaplain involved.Response by Lt Col Jim Coe made Mar 6 at 2020 9:50 AM2020-03-06T09:50:31-05:002020-03-06T09:50:31-05:002020-03-05T18:06:19-05:00
