Do agree that the Obama’s presidential portraits for the Smithsonian are unusual?

The video of the Obamas unveiling those portraits did not portray either of the Obamas as being very pleased with the paintings. Your comments?

CSM Charles Hayden, I didn’t watch the unveiling, but if it were me I’d be very disappointed. I would have liked this one much better, but that’s just me.

If you look through all of the past portraits, you will notice that they start to drift slowly down a less professional path. That being said, these paintings are goofy as hell and I do not know what the artist was thinking. I do think that if there had to be a president who was "honored" with such god awful looking work that it couldn't of happened to a more worthy fellow.

I think they are both awful, CSM Charles Hayden. With that word uppermost in mind, both “portraits” are the pure essence of their time in the White House.
