I just wonder why the author only interviewed Officer wives. To get an all-around feel, one would think that she would interview at least one majority (Enlisted) spouse.
To get an even better idea she could have interviewed service members, Officer and Enlisted, directly (under terms of anonymity of course).

Lastly, no "in-depth" study needed to be conducted! I'm sure everyone here has served under at least one toxic leader.

YES ... my NOSC used to have almost 200 driller ... and a new leadership come in ... then sink to less than 70s, then a good one come in, we raise back up to 90s ... and then now another change of command ... don't know what will happen ...

Absolutely the stress at work eventually carries over to the home life. If you feel you are not successful at work than you will walk through that door feeling like you failed your family.

Lived it. Paid the price of a broken home. Got the t-shirt.
I won't say that my toxic leaders made my situation, but they made it much, much worse.
