Last night while you were sleeping the Senate voted to steal $150 billion dollars from the Social Security Trust Fund. Senators Mike Lee, and Rand Paul joined with 32 of their colleagues in a vote to prevent this raid. Senator Lee writes, "Just remember, a vote to raid social security in the middle of the night in a desperate attempt to perpetuate an unsustainable spending addiction isn't a sign of strength. It is a sign of weakness." Do you agree with his assessment?

This only proves the RepubliCrats are a single party, united in screwing the American People and falsifying their differences to create discord in the election process in an effort to give the American people the illusion that they are actually making a choice, and have a part in the process.... This isn't the first time that Social Security Trust Fund has been "raided". I need to read more about what happened last night, but in the past, they've basically traded the cash in the trust fund for IOU's (in the form of Treasury Bonds that can't actually be sold). The plan is to pay it back, but it never seems to happen. This is the reason why we heard "the govt won't be able to write Social Security checks" during a recent debt ceiling debate. If the cash had been left in the Trust Fund it would have been immune to the debt ceiling.

As for me, my retirement plan doesn't include any Social Security. If I do somehow get SS payments, I'm sure there will still be plenty of homeless veterans I can give the money to.

PVT Robert Gresham - Sergeant; In the House all the Democrats and 80 Republicans voted in favor of this. In the Senate all the Democrats and 18 Republicans voted in favor of this.

Had all the Republicans in the Senate opposed it it would not have passed.

Of course, had it not have passed then the country's economy would have been hooped since this "raid" was tagged onto the budget bill.

If any of you have the time, read the monthly report on Social Security and its cousins. How do you transfer $150B from a dry hole. And that doesn't consider all the illegals and refugees that will be eligible at some time in the near future for benefits. Once again we have our hands in future recipients pockets for our largesse today.

Can't get upset over this, and not really surprised honestly. I'm interested to see how lamestream media spins this to further divide the country, then get the "experts" who will also place blame on each others parties. No one will mention that they personally had skin in this game and did it. But America, these are the "winners" we elected into office. These are the "heroes" who swear they have our best interests in mind and know what we want/need.

There's never been any actual money in the social security "trust fund". It's nothing more than a shell game to take on more debt.
