Afghan defense minister says Taliban sheltered in hospital bombed by US

KABUL, Afghanistan (AP) — Afghanistan's acting defense minister says the hospital that was bombed by U.S. forces was being used by insurgents who were fighting government forces.

If true, it could be seen as a good thing that we bombed that hospital.

I have little doubt those Taliban turd bags were hiding in that hospital.
Regardless, it should not have been fired upon as critical infrastructure and a protected target. Doing so requires VERY senior approval.
That is why we have proportional force rules. If it became necessary to engage enemy holing up in a hospital, it should have been done with ground forces clearing it, not an AC-130. Unless absolutely necessary... but that is why there will be an inquiry.
