Of course the promise to build a GREAT WALL got this person elected. He has been blowing smoke for years and many were blinded by it. Well, here you go. More wasted money from the tax payers.
Do we really need a commander and chief who has no idea how politics works? A man who makes outrageous promises.

Not having a secure border has cost us more in lives and money already than what we'll spend on a wall. So Yes...since you asked the question with your already biased answer included, we should build a wall...If it is a failure then so be it..at least we will have tried to defend ourselves and not let decades of a festering sore go on forever. And as far as your narrow minded comment about his experience in politics goes...what the hell do you think big busieness is? It's all politics. As far as Washington politics go, then yes, he's a rookie, but electing yet another career politician who'll be more interested in feathering her nest (Clinton) than working for the Country wasn't the answer. Get your quotes from someone other than CNN, too...it doesn't hold water.

How telling is it that the President of Mexico actually suggests establishing Consulate offices in US Cities for the sole purpose of assisting the very people who left their country illegally, fight deportation back to their own country while in the next breath say that Mexico needs to strengthen its southern border? More Tequila anyone?

SFC Dan Garcia - It is great to claim that ONLY migrant workers from South of the border will do the work to harvest produce in America. But it shows a lack of understanding of basic economics.

The law of supply and demand works as well for labor, as for goods and services. How long do you think farmers will allow their crops to rot in the fields? They will increase the workers wages to get the labor they need. How long do you think the American consumer will do without fresh produce? They will pay the higher market price to get the fresh produce they demand.

I'm all for legal migrant labor that comes, does the work, and does not over stay their visa. Hopefully, immigration reform happens quickly and if they choose to, they can become US citizens. But I am not I favor of migrant labor that has committed unlawful entry or has established illegal residency. They depress the price of labor and help keep agricultural labor prices artificially low, keeping farm labor at poverty subsistence wages.

Do you actually think Trump was voted in on a promise to build a wall ? You still don't get it. I have much to say on this matter, but I'm really tired of beating a dead horse. If you don't understand by now, you never will.

SCPO Don Groves - I think a lot of people defy predictability, defy placement in a nifty labelled box. Neither can I adequately judge you from that short statement. You are more than just a conservative Trump supporter or am I wrong?

The building of the wall is to slow down criminal elements coming into this country. The illegals that are already here will be handled on a crime by crime basis. My nephew, who works the border says that 3 % of the people on the last administrations list have been deported. The border fence between Mexico and Guatemala is not continuous and has the same purpose as our bridge crossing. A large number of people illegally crossing into the United States are from Central America.

SSgt are you implying that a man who has just duped the system into thinking that he wasn't going to win has no idea how things up there work? It's a literal eat your children if you have to type of system, and being the business man he is, he's far more than capable of satisfying the public than a political figure ever could.

"More wasted money from the tax payers" You gotta spend money to make money. :P

Okay! Back to this old thread from a month ago.

1st: No that is not my opinion, I do not think the people were duped. I fully believe in this man to America great again, both economically, and politically.

2nd: I find the simple minded and stupid are the alt lefters, due to their inability to comprehend how democracy works, or free speech or most of anything that is in our constitution.

3rd: I don't care if you find me obnoxious, I think you have misinterpreted what I've said, to be leftist ideals when in fact I'm a right winged individual.

4th: I do, it makes sense, though I do understand that just building a wall does not end the quest to stop the illegals and the drugs. We would have actually enforce our laws about illegal immigration and have to increase border guard manpower. Though it's a statement to all the people who want to break laws coming into this country illegally some for illegal purposes. Though it shows we do not want that here and we are going to put a actually effort behind stopping it. Another thing we need to do, is legalize drugs. Boom, 80% of the illegal drug trade just died in America. The only reason we have drug smuggling coming from South America is because it's illegal.

5th: There are 328 Million people in this great country of ours, do you think that we can't put atleast 3% towards border patrol?

6th: I never claimed it was about making money, I just said you need to spend money to make money, and let's just say if you legalize drugs at a federal level, and then you actually create a market for it. (The illegal drug trade globally is worth aprox: 435 BILLLION dollars as told by UNODOC. Cartels make 64.3 Billion dollars a year.) If we were to take and start actually selling cleaner, more potent, and better drugs than what the illegal drug trade can provide then we can make more than that, and let's just say the wall approximately will cost 25 Billion dollars (A constructor actually did the math behind it -Not counting the man hours or anything of major variables, just the basic material.-) Now with these numbers in hand, you can approximate that it will take 2-5 years to make more than a 100% recovery of funds.

I might not be able to recite every manual, every document, or every lecture by a professor in some random college but it's just basic common sense, and it is not the same common sense the left is proposing.

Donald Trump has been accused many times of switching parties more often than John Kerry switched tacks. And you say he knows nothing of Politics... fact is politicians know far less about politics than Donald Trump... Sort of a "rope a dope" thing... You know.."Trump a chump"?

Anyone ever notice the scrabble possibilities of the word "policies"? . You can certainly make "police's" or "I police" and many other words..
Policy? Is it perhaps the very origin of the word police?
